Mountain glaciers are melting rapidly across the globe.

The Andean Mountain range has been the source of numerous glaciers that lasted for millennia. Colombia used to have fourteen just one hundred years ago, with six remaining under melting pressure.

Melting glaciers are banished downstream, many times causing severe damage to mountain communities and resources.

Millions of people who depend on mountain glacier water sources, are vulnerable to glacier ice melting conditions.

There are multiple locations with high altitude holding lakes that are vulnerable to levy breaks, caused by increasing volumes of melted glacier water.

These are tragedies waiting to happen.

Please watch the UNESCO movie, there is much to know about the remaining mountain glaciers of the world.
